Swedes and Swedish Culture are controversial political subjects in Sweden. The definitions for Swedish culture are very vague and what is the answer to the question: Who can be called Swedes? It has been debated in Sweden more since Swedish Democrats crossed the four percent threshold necessary for representation in the Swedish parliament. Swedes or Swedish culture on a large Internet forum with 2 million visitors per week called Flashback forum is material for this thesis.Flashback forum has currently more than 50 million posts published and has more than 970 000 users. Flashback forum is more and more often mentioned in Swedish media.

The main purpose of this study has been to explore and determine how the journalistic work was used by internet users to start and keep a discussion on the internet going.We started in the aftermath of a local arson in a town of Sweden, where a discussion on the Internet forum Flashback and the local newspapers commentary fields was raised.We have used these discussions to study what part the journalistic work play in these events. To do that we used a critical discourse analysis and a rhetoric analysis to investigate how these discussions use news articles to make their point. We divided the comments into four different categories, which are comments about understandings of the event, comments that talked about the matters of fact, criticism pointed at the newspaper and comments that identify the offenders.The result of the analysis shows that both forums use journalistic work as facts in their discussions. Both also use earlier articles that were written before the arson, to make their point in the discussion..

The purpose of this study is to examine discussions on the Swedish Internet forum ?Flashback? regarding female body hair and the cultural norms that surround it. The discussion is centered around a broadcasted event in which a woman?s hairy armpit was incidentally shown, with a lot of viral hate as a result. Our purpose with this study is to get a deeper insight into viral hate towards women who challenge gender norms.

Today the internet has become a meeting place for people seeking advice and experience from other individuals. Internet also offers opportunities to send out information to large groups of people, which are at a geographical distance. A large increase of websites for parents has been seen in the recent years. On the largest Swedish website for parents, Familjeliv.se, approx. 40 000 posts are posted daily in the discussion forum.

AbstractPurpose/Aim: The aim of this essay is to examine the democratic potential of Forum Games.The main focus of the essay is if working with forum games can help the participators to better communicate their thoughts and ideas and through this take better part in a democratic society.Material/Method: The material to the study has been gathered through three interviews with persons using forum games in their work and one enquiry with 21 students in Teacher education at Uppsala University, who had recently tried the method for the first time.Main results: The conclusion of the study is that forum game has a democratic potential. Ability to communicate is important for a democratic society and participating in forum games can improve the participators communication abilities. Furthermore forum games seem to have other positive effects on a democratic society, apart from helping the participators to improve their communication skills.Keywords: Forum Games, Forum Theatre, Communication, Democracy, Drama.

I den här undersökningen har vi tagit del av diskussioner på två nätforum. Det ena är Flashback, ett privat, kommersiellt och mer eller mindre icke-kontrollerat forum. Det andra är Soctanterna på nätet, som drivs av Malmö stad och inom vilket professionella socialsekreterare verkar. Vårt material består av trådar där unga beskriver och diskuterar problem med den egna psykiska hälsan och som därför har sökt hjälp på dessa forum. I studien jämförs de två forumen med utgångspunkt i forumets kontroll, vertikal och horisontell dialog, samt den professionella ansatsen som Soctanterna på nätet har, respektive den icke-professionella ansatsen som förekommer på Flashback.

Internet is used today as a traditional medium for information exchange and social interaction. One of these is virtual meeting places where people meet and exchange information, socialize and exchange knowledge with each other. The group has chosen to examine the factors affecting the use of web forums, one of the virtual meeting places that exist on the Internet today. And look at how people use the web forum today in the current situation and how to design a web forum.A survey was conducted to find out how people look at web forums today, 80 people participated, and they got to talk about what they think about different web forums regarding how and why the use these them. Guidelines on how a web forum should be designed were also developed.

This essay examines the Swedish debate on Internet hate with focus on theories concerning Internet as a public sphere, sociocultural turbulence and subaltern counterpublics. Examining material fromnewspapers, alternative news media and discussion forums, with an hermeneutical influenced method, the task is to understand the Internet hate debate, and the study wishes to discover its relations to biggercontexts, such as social transformations and power dynamics. The conflict evolves between the establishment (journalists, writers, politicians et cetera) on one part, and Internet ?haters? on the other.The examined theme also shows a conflict where the two combatants show not only two opposite views on what Internet hate is, but also shows two different conceptions of the world..

I denna uppsats behandlas den statliga myndigheten Forum för levande historia. Grunden i dennastudie utgörs av en kartläggning av myndighetens verksamhet, så som den går att studera i form avmaterial publicerat på Forum för levande historias hemsida. Utifrån exemplet ?det historiskafolkmordet? används en rad historiedidaktiska teorier för att svara på frågor som berör Forum förlevande historias historieanvändning. Med hjälp av en historiedidaktisk granskning av hurmyndigheten behandlar det historiska folkmordet diskuteras förhållandet mellan denhistorieskrivning som bedrivs och Forum för levande historias uppdrag och verksamhet i nutid.Studien slår fast att Forum för levande historia ofrånkomligen bedriver en historieförmedling somfärgats av det sammanhang som den bedrivs i.

Gruppolarisering innebär att bl.a. social jämförelse leder till att isolerade grupper med likasinnade genererar mer extrema åsikter. Gruppolarisering på internet kan vara ett oroväckande fenomen för den deliberativa demokratin. Istället för att människor med konkurrerande ståndpunkter utbyter idéer och tankar med varandra samlas de i isolerade diskussionsforum på internet där social jämförelse i värsta fall kan utmynna i hattal och terrorism. Med netnografisk metod studeras här politiska diskussioner online i två olika typer av forum, ett politiskt och ett icke politiskt.

Syftet med den här undersökningen är att ta reda på om det är så att vuxna, som haft en barndom präglad av en förälders missbruk eller psykiska sjukdom, har ett speciellt behov av att möta andra på Internet som har en liknande uppväxt. Jag vill ta reda på hur och med vad det här mötet kan hjälpa de vuxna barnen och vilka fördelar respektive nackdelar de kan se med att det finns en mötesplats på Internet som alternativ till andra mötesforum som t.ex. självhjälpsgrupper inom ACoA (=Adult Children of Alkoholics/Vuxna barn till alkoholister och från andra störda familjer) och liknande där man till skillnad mot i kontakten på ett forum på Internet möts öga mot öga. Mina frågeställningar är:Hur upplever kvinnor som vuxit upp i en dysfunktionell familj att deras barndom har påverkat dem och deras förmåga att samspela med andra människor? Hur upplever kvinnor som vuxit upp i en dysfunktionell familj och som sedan tidigare är vana Internetanvändare att ett forum på Internet kan vara till stöd i deras bearbetning av barndomen?Jag har för att få svar på mina frågor gjort Internetintervjuer med vuxna barn.

Forskning benämner de barn och ungdomar som föddes under åttio- och nittiotalet som internetgenerationen. Innebörden av detta begrepp är att vi har en hel generation som vuxit upp med nätet som ett ständigt närvarande fenomen samt att detta i sin tur påverkat ungas vardag, socialisation och inlärning. Den omfattande effekt nätet haft på samhället och våra yngre generationer har i sin tur påverkat det pedagogiska uppdraget. Jag har gjort en kvalitativ undersökning där jag intervjuat fem pedagoger om deras tankar kring internet och dess inverkan på pedagogens uppdrag. Pedagogerna är alla eniga om att internet spelar en viktig roll i barns och ungas tillvaro samt att barn visar kunskaper om IT och nätet redan första året i skolan.

With this study we aim to learn more about the process in creating an identity onFlashback Forum. We have observed four members of the forum to find what themesdefine thier way of making an identitity. Besides to our empirical material we foundearlier research that could support our study. The methods we used was qualitativesince we wanted to get a deep understandning for their behaviour. We found thattheese three themes were central: Language, Content and the feeling of beingAnonymous.

Suicidology deals a lot with taking into consideration significant symptoms, risk factors and establishing causal relationships which inevitably are very important for suicide prevention. But do we understand the suicide attempters better thereby? The aim with the study is to elucidate the meaning of the lived suicidal experience that is expressed by participants on an Internet forum. Ten participants' texts which concerned own suicidality were chosen out from this Internet forum and were analyzed and interpreted on the basis of a phenomenological hermeneutical method inspired by Ricoeur (1976). The result established twelve themes that with the aid of Heidegger (1993) and Derrida (1978, 1991) led to that the following conclusions could be drawn about the meaning of the suicidal lifeworld: suicidal concern and care in itself reduces the sense of identity, practical suicidal doing in itself reduces the world, sense of identity is more affected by the future than the present and the past, the death is escaped from through a calculating determination to have the death at one's disposal, inability to turn away from the death increases oscillating between states of emotions, the surrounding world's requirement to avoiding death becomes to a compulsion to isolate one self; and finally: to both feel anxiety in front of one self's own death and dread when escaping from it..
